Our People
Northern Support Services employs over fifty people to provide support to approximately 170 clients with disabilities. Peter Dalgleish
Peter started his working life with NSS in 2004 as a residential support worker in the accommodation program. In 2006 he was promoted to the Manager role in Accommodation where he leads a committed group of staff to provide support to people in their homes.
Peter holds a Certificate IV in disability studies and is currently furthering his personal development with additional studies in the disability field.
Prior to joining NSS, Peter has worked both locally and overseas in London in day services and home based care working with people with intellectual, physical and mental health needs as well as managing a team of staff and clients.
Peter likes working at NSS “because the organisation thinks outside the square and is concerned about all life issues. It’s also got great people and a good atmosphere between team mates. They also really care about the clients”.
Tyson Brooks
Tyson is currently an instructor in the day program with NSS. He started with NSS in 2002 as a residential support worker in the accommodation program. After a number of years in this program he was successful in transferring to the day program where he works with clients on skill development, health and well being, community visits eg local gym and library.
Prior to joining NSS, Tyson studied a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) whilst working part time. Tyson has also completed certificate IV Training and Assessment with NSS.
Jennifer Williams
Jennifer has worked with NSS for over 22 years. She commenced working in the disability field at Janfield Training Centre located in Bundoora.
She then moved to NSS where she started working as a casual in the day program. She enjoyed the work immensely and was successful in gaining a full time role as an instructor. Over the years she has had many roles at NSS, and now she works as the program manager.
Her current role involves managing the various operational areas of the organisation where she leads and motivates her group of staff to provide a quality service to our clients.
Jennifer states “that she likes working at NSS as they have strong vision for people with disabilities”. Jennifer has completed a certificate IV in disability and has also obtained certificate IV in workplace training and assessment.
